Updated on December, 30th 2008

We have been involved with danes since 1994 and we had our first litter in 2002.Newton 5 years old
My husband Michel and I live in the surroundings of Quebec city, Lac Beauport (Quebec) Canada.
We love training and caring for our dogs and puppies.
Our first dane was a blue dane, Watson in 1995.
I personnaly been in love with the breed since I was a little girl.

We are very lucky to get to know the breeders that have
helped us learn about the breed and become very knowlagable about breeding.
We have a very selective breeding program.
We breed very occasionnaly and only if we can keep a puppy.

Holistic Care

We are BARFing our dogs since 1997.
BARF stands for " Bones and Raw Food " according to Dr Ian Billinghurst, autor of " Give your Dog a Bone ", " Grow your puppy with bones ".

It involves feeding a diet based on nature, using raw meaty bones, herbs,
fresh raw vegetables, and a lifestyle as close to nature as possible.

In addition, our veterinarian. Clinique veterinaire Lucie Paradis, is an holistic veterinarian
and we use homeopathy to treat our dogs' injuries and occasional illnesses.

Responsible Breeding

Our dogs are placed with a written health guarantee (more informations on the "litter" page)

We breed with conformation, health and temperament in mind at all times.

CONFORMATION. We try to be as close as possible of the dane standard,
mainly for type, structure and soundness.
Read more about the standard on "The Great Dane" page
Dogs of our breeding are conformation champions.

HEALTH. Au Chatelet dogs are screened test for health.
Before being bred, they *must have* obtained all health clearances for:

* Hips (OFA)
* Elbows (OFA)
 * Thryoid (full test)
 and * Cardiac (ultrasound) .

Health tests results for our dogs are publicly recorded online and can be viewed on the Orthopedic Fundation for Animals (www.offa.org)

TEMPERAMENT. All dogs included into our breeding program must have an
 outstanding temperment to ensure that the breed's reputation of being a "Gentle Giant" remains.
